The first national satellite of the Kyrgyz Republic has been launched into orbit.

Modern.az reports that the President's press service released information about this.

President Sadyr Japarov attended the launch ceremony on October 1 as part of his working visit to the United States.

The rocket was launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California with a Falcon 9 rocket belonging to SpaceX.

According to the information, the satellite was placed as part of a group of spacecraft launched into orbit with a single launch vehicle. Its launch was carried out through a joint effort between Kyrgyzstan and the United Arab Emirates. The satellite will be controlled from the Mission Control Center in Bishkek.

Satellite data will be used to identify illegal mining, unauthorized waste dumps and other sources of pollution, as well as to optimize logistics routes.

The data will allow for faster detection of droughts, floods, landslides, mudslides and forest fires, creating additional opportunities for timely response and reducing potential damage.
