Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, stated that US President Donald Trump's statements about achieving victory over Iran do not reflect reality.
Modern.az reports that Rezaei shared this on the social network “X”.
According to him, Trump “can win every day in his imagination”, but reality is determined by Iran, its people, army, and missiles.
“After facing one failure after another, the worst president in US history continues to speak. Now his words have even surpassed his own fantasies,” Rezaei wrote.
He added: “You can win every day in your imagination. But reality is shaped by Iran – its people, soldiers, and missiles.”
Rezaei's statement comes after Trump's repeated assertions that the US has already won or is close to winning the war with Iran.
The US president said on Thursday that Tehran was on the verge of surrender and that the conflict could end shortly after the US midterm elections.
At the same time, Trump does not rule out the possibility of large-scale military operations resuming. According to “Reuters”, Washington is strengthening its military presence in the Middle East, while Iran is preparing for a possible new US strike.
Negotiations between the parties have not yet resulted in an agreement. According to “Reuters”, Iran presented a proposal through Qatar that included a cessation of military operations, the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and the lifting of sanctions. Trump, however, rejected this proposal.
Trump said on Thursday that Iran should accept the deal offered by Washington.
“They will either sign a very fair deal, or they will no longer exist,” the US president emphasized.
