The US Armed Forces Northern Command has deployed nearly 500 troops to the border with Mexico as part of joint planned activities between the two countries.
Modern.az reports that this is stated in a joint statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the Ministry of Naval Forces (MNF) of Mexico.
American troops have been deployed in the Rio Grande Valley area in Texas as part of Operation "Fiery Vanguard". Mexican officials noted that these steps are aimed at strengthening border security and expanding capabilities for detecting potential threats.
In turn, the Mexican Navy sent 159 troops, 11 vehicles, and two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to the border city of Matamoros in Tamaulipas state as part of Operation "Sword".
Mexico emphasized that the interaction between the two countries is carried out on the basis of respect for sovereignty and mutual trust. The Mexican Navy will continue patrolling the northern border, and information exchange between the parties will be carried out through established channels.
