A 7.7 magnitude earthquake has been recorded near the south of Panama.
Modern.az reports that the US Geological Survey (USGS) announced that the earthquake occurred in the Pitaloza Arriba region at 12:56 local time. The tremors were reportedly recorded at a depth of approximately 10 kilometers.
Following the earthquake, a tsunami warning was issued for coastal areas in the eastern Pacific.
According to the information, more than 30 aftershocks ranging from 2.1 to 6 magnitude were recorded after the earthquake. Experts have warned that the tremors may continue.
