It should be noted that on October 9, a telephone conversation took place between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The presidents discussed the issue of diesel fuel supply from Russia.
Trump announced in his post on the social network “Truth Social” that he had talks with Putin and an agreement was reached on Russia supplying a large volume of diesel fuel to the US and world markets.
According to him, Russia will immediately supply more than 300 thousand tons of diesel fuel to the US and world markets. An additional 500 thousand tons will be sent during November, and immediately after that, another 1 million tons of fuel.
The US President stated that, depending on the condition of Russia's oil refineries, an additional 3 million tons of diesel fuel are also planned to be supplied in the near future.
Trump noted that the US's full control over the Strait of Hormuz and this agreement regarding Russia's energy resources will lead to a decrease in diesel fuel prices for Americans, as well as for world consumers.
Trump called the agreement extremely important.
