An oil tanker attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without Iran's permission hit a mine and caught fire.
Modern.az reports with reference to IRIB that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran issued a statement about this.
"A supertanker carrying crude oil, attempting to exit the Strait of Hormuz via an illegal route, struck a naval mine on a declared high-risk path and was subjected to a violent explosion," the statement said.
It was noted that the tanker had turned off its navigation and positioning systems.
The IRGC Navy stated that this would be the fate of any tanker that violates the security and regulations of the Strait of Hormuz.
