US Secretary of Defense Pit Hegset made an unannounced visit to Israel and met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Modern.az reports that “Axios” published this information, citing two informed sources.
It was reported that the meeting took place eight days before the parliamentary elections in Israel.
The visit coincides with a period of discussions between the US and Israel regarding the possible resumption of large-scale military operations against Iran.
It should be noted that US President Donald Trump announced his support for Netanyahu in the Israeli elections a day earlier.
The Pentagon and the Israeli embassy in Washington did not make an official statement about the meeting in the initial stage.
