Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenka joked about the ownership of Bryansk region during a meeting with Bryansk region governor Kovalchuk.
Modern.az reports that Lukashenka spoke about the close ties between the border regions of Belarus and Russia.
“It is still necessary to clarify who the Bryansk region belongs to. I say this in a good sense: whatever is best in Bryansk region is from Belarus, and whatever is best in Belarus is from Bryansk, as well as Smolensk and Pskov regions,” he said.
Lukashenka expressed his satisfaction with the absence of a state border between the two countries, saying that “the administrative border is not a problem.”
The Belarusian President also offered to help with the gasification of Bryansk region.
