European officials are concerned that US President Donald Trump favors Russian leader Vladimir Putin more than Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

It is reported that some officials in Europe link Trump's tough stance against Ukraine to his personal relationships.
“Trump doesn't like Zelensky. He just doesn't like him,” said one European official.
According to him, the US president's attitude towards the Ukrainian leader makes it difficult to get Washington's support for the peace process.
A diplomat from one of the European Union member states emphasized that Trump has repeatedly changed his position on various issues, but has shown a different approach towards Russia.
According to the diplomat, although Trump has repeatedly criticized Ukraine, the European Union, and NATO, he has rarely expressed negative opinions about Putin.
He believes that the policy of the current US administration seems closer to Russia.
The publication notes that in European capitals, there are fears that Trump's position could negatively affect the negotiations aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine.
However, European diplomats do not rule out that the US president may change his position on Ukraine again.
The White House did not immediately respond to Politico's request for comment on the matter.
