The US Treasury Department has imposed new sanctions against companies accused of assisting Iran's oil shipments.
Modern.az reports that “Reuters” disseminated information about this.
The sanctions list includes the law firm “Karnakis & Karnakis” operating in Greece and Panama. Washington accuses the company of creating shell companies to conceal the true owners of vessels carrying Iranian oil.
US authorities have launched an investigation into a Greek bank due to possible financial ties with Iran. Information has been requested from six other European banks.
In addition, sanctions have been imposed on shipping agents operating in Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.
