Strong winds and storms caused serious damage in Turkey's Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa provinces.
Modern.az reports that as a result of the storm, 1 person died and several people were slightly injured in Şanlıurfa. In Gaziantep, 23 people were injured due to adverse weather conditions.
During the storm in Gaziantep, the Alleben stream overflowed, roofs collapsed in some areas, and a tornado damaged cars in Oğuzeli district.
The Gaziantep governorship declared a state of emergency in the region.
As a result of the storm, minor damage was recorded in 39 schools in Şahinbey, Şehitkamil, Nizip and Yavuzeli districts.
For this reason, classes in these schools were suspended for 1 day on May 4, 2026.
