Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, commented on the statements of Western European countries regarding the ships they call the “Russian shadow fleet.”
Modern.az reports that Medvedev wrote about this on his social media account.
“Western European dogs are barking at full strength about the so-called Russian shadow fleet. This refers to ordinary merchant ships that are not under the Russian flag but carry out transportation for our interests,” Medvedev noted.
According to him, guided by a symmetrical approach, Russia has the right to attack any merchant ship belonging to hostile countries, regardless of whether it is in Russian waters or neutral waters.
Medvedev stated that it is enough to have sufficient suspicion that the ship is carrying cargo in the interests of the opposing side.
“That is, any cargo! There are many such ships. Our Armed Forces are capable of sharply expanding their activities beyond the Black Sea basin,” he said.
