The Ukrainian army has regained control of a total of 176 square kilometers of territory within the framework of the “Vivaldi” operation.
Modern.az reports that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this during his visit to the command post of the 3rd Army Corps. The Office of the President of Ukraine released information about the visit and the operation on September 30.
According to Zelensky, during the three phases of the “Vivaldi” operation, the advance of Russian forces into the rear of the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration was prevented, and the situation in this direction of the front was stabilized.
The Ukrainian President stated that during the operation, the losses of the Russian side, including dead and wounded, amounted to more than 5,000, and 250 servicemen were taken prisoner. These figures are statements from the Ukrainian side and have not been independently confirmed.
Zelensky said that plans for the fourth phase of the operation were also discussed with the military.
During the meeting, issues of artillery and financial support for the units, as well as wider application of ground-based robotic systems in the combat zone, were discussed.
Zelensky stated that the Ukrainian army plans to increase the scale of using unmanned and robotic systems instead of servicemen in dangerous tasks.
During the visit, a number of servicemen participating in the operation were awarded state prizes.
