US President Donald Trump announced that he had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin and discussed fuel supplies.
Modern.az reports that the US leader wrote on the social network “Truth Social” that he had a very successful phone conversation with Putin.
According to Trump's claim, during the conversation, an agreement was reached for Russia to immediately supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the US and world markets. Subsequently, an additional 500,000 tons are planned to be sent in November, followed by 1 million tons of fuel. He also stated that Russia could supply another 3 million tons of diesel fuel in a short period, depending on the condition of its oil refineries.
Trump called this a “magnificent statement regarding Russian energy resources.” In his opinion, as a result of these supplies, diesel fuel prices in the US and globally will fall at a record pace.
The US President emphasized that ensuring cheaper fuel for Americans, especially those working in the agricultural and transport sectors, is one of his most important priorities.
Trump also stated that the US has full control over the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
“In addition, it must be understood that Iran will not possess nuclear weapons,” he added.
