Kaja Kallas, the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, supported Ukraine's strikes on oil refineries in Russia.
Modern.az reports that Kallas made this statement in Brussels.
According to her, Ukraine is trying to achieve an earlier end to the war by targeting Russia's oil refining facilities.
Kallas stated that revenues from oil sales play a key role in financing Russia's war against Ukraine.
“A large part of the funds Russia spends on the war comes from oil revenues. Ukraine wants this war to end. Therefore, it is important to limit the financial sources of the war,” she emphasized.
The head of European diplomacy noted the importance of directing international pressure towards Moscow, not Kyiv.
“To end this war, instead of forcing Ukraine to surrender, pressure should be put on Russia,” Kallas added.
She stated that the European Union maintains its position on this issue and will continue its support for Ukraine.
