US President Donald Trump on Saturday blamed immigration for the riots shaking France.
Modern.az reports that the US President called on Paris to tighten its immigration policy.
"France is burning! Immigration from a completely different world, whose heart is full of hatred, has destroyed this once great country," Trump said in a post on his "Truth Social" platform on Sunday. He added: "Close the borders and get this situation under control before it's too late!"
On October 17, mass demonstrations were held in Paris and throughout France against rising fuel prices and declining purchasing power. The organizers said that 800,000 people participated in the protests, while the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that this figure was 550,000. In several cities, protests turned into riots and clashes with the police. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said that 1,800 people were detained.
