The institution of family in Russia is facing a serious crisis.

Modern.az reports that interest in marriage in the country is rapidly declining, while the number of divorces continues to increase.

According to information, currently in Russia, there are 8 divorces for every 10 families. In 2025, the country ranked among the top three globally in terms of the number of divorces.

Psychologists state that for many people, marriage is now perceived as a “dead end.” Due to the passivity of men in the family, women are burdened with household chores, which leads to their psychological exhaustion.

In addition, financial difficulties, debts, and problems in supporting the family further strain relationships. As a result, cases of indifference and infidelity increase in families.

It is noted that continuous stress leads to mental disorders and depression, and this situation has already become common in many families.

As a result of all these factors, people prefer to live alone, refusing marriage. For the first time in Russia, the number of single people has exceeded the number of married individuals.

Currently, 42% of the country's population lives alone, and this indicator includes not only the elderly but also able-bodied men and women. The majority of them consciously refuse marriage.
