A person on international wanted list was arrested in the Republic of Turkey and extradited to Azerbaijan.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by the Ministry of Justice.
According to the information, the Ministry of Justice continues effective cooperation measures with relevant institutions of foreign countries regarding the arrest and extradition of persons accused of committing crimes to our country.
On April 29, another person, who was put on the international wanted list by the National Central Bureau of Interpol in the Republic of Azerbaijan and whose location was determined in the Republic of Turkey, was extradited to Azerbaijan by the Ministry.
Thus, the location of Sevinj Alisafa Huseynova, a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who was accused of defrauding a group of citizens by promising to appoint them to relevant positions or arrange employment, and taking various amounts of money from them, as well as abusing the trust of citizens, embezzling a total of 69,000 (sixty-nine thousand) manats, and causing significant material damage to the victims (Articles 178.2.2, 178.2.3, 178.2.4 and 308.1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan), was determined in the Republic of Turkey and she was arrested.
After the request of the General Prosecutor's Office and the submission of the required documents in accordance with international procedures, as well as the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the extradition of the person to our country. This, in turn, once again confirms the existing reputation of our country in the international arena and the Republic of Turkey as a reliable partner for our country.
Sevinj Alisafa Huseynova was brought to our country from Antalya, Republic of Turkey, by responsible employees of the Main Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Justice and the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry, and was placed in the relevant pre-trial detention center based on the court's arrest warrant.
The Ministry continues to take necessary measures in this area.
