French President Emmanuel Macron will attend a grand concert in Gyumri, a historical Azerbaijani city, now considered the second largest city in Armenia, on May 5, as part of his visit to Armenia.
Modern.az reports that this was noted in the project submitted to the meeting of the Armenian government.
According to the information, approximately 393 million drams (more than 1 million dollars) are planned to be allocated for the organization of the concert.
It is noted that the event will be held in Vardanants Square in Gyumri and will be dedicated to Armenian-French friendship, as well as the development of cultural cooperation.
The concert program will feature Armenian and French-themed music, and performances will be presented by well-known Armenian and French performers. They will be accompanied by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.
The government states that the choice of Gyumri for the concert is not accidental. There is great interest in the French language and culture in the city, which is associated with the support provided by France after the 1988 earthquake.
