A person close to the Iranian leadership said that a possible US naval blockade would not weaken the country, but rather harm Western states.
Modern.az reports that Mohsen Mokhber made a statement about this.
He stated that a naval blockade that the US could impose would not seriously weaken Iran:
“While we control 20% of the world's oil and more than 18 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, such a blockade will not set Iran back, but it will seriously damage the global dominance system.”
According to Mokhber, such a step could have negative consequences for world powers and affect the international energy balance.
