World-famous American singer Dua Lipa has sued South Korean company Samsung.
Modern.az reports with reference to foreign media that the artist is demanding at least 15 million dollars in compensation from the company for the illegal use of her photo on the packaging of Crystal UHD televisions.
According to the information, the lawsuit was filed in a California federal court.
Court documents state that the photo in question was taken backstage during the singer's Austin City Limits festival in 2024. The photo was officially registered with the US Copyright Office.
Dua Lipa's representatives claim that "Samsung" violated the singer's copyright, trademark, and image rights.
The lawsuit states that the company used the artist's popularity to advertise its products and tried to create the impression in the public that Dua Lipa was collaborating with the brand or supporting the televisions.
So far, "Samsung" has not made an official statement on the matter.
