Public criminal prosecution has been initiated against four former corps commanders of the Armed Forces in Armenia as part of investigations into the March 2008 events.

Modern.az reports that the Armenian Prosecutor General's Office released information about this.

According to the information, Pogos Pogosyan, Valeri Grigoryan, Aykaz Bagmanyan, and Levon Yeranyan, who commanded four army corps from February 23 to March 1, 2008, are accused.

They are charged with aiding actions that led to serious consequences as a result of exceeding their official powers.

According to the investigation's version, the former commanders, by executing illegal orders, allocated resources, removed obstacles, and thereby supported the activities of Mikael Arutyunyan, who was the Minister of Defense at the time, and other high-ranking officials.

The Prosecutor General's Office stated that this refers to individuals, including Armenia's second president Robert Kocharyan, former defense minister Seyran Ohanyan, and former CSTO secretary general Yuri Khachaturov, who were previously charged in the "March 1 case."

It should be noted that the "March 1 case" is considered one of the most resonant criminal cases opened in Armenia related to the events that occurred after the 2008 presidential elections.
