During a phone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump sharply criticized Israel's actions against Hezbollah.
Modern.az reports that the "New York Post" newspaper published information about this.
According to sources, the conversation quickly turned tense. According to them, Trump said at one point:
“What are you doing?”
One of the "Axios" sources conveyed the president's words in a harsher form:
“You're crazy. If it weren't for me, you'd be in jail. I'm saving you. Now everyone hates you.”
Sources also claim that Trump was extremely nervous and, "speaking in a high tone," effectively pressured the Israeli prime minister.
According to the version of the same sources, Netanyahu tried to maintain a diplomatic style and stated that if attacks on Israeli cities do not stop, Israel will continue its operations against Hezbollah.
Netanyahu's office stated that Israel's position has not changed: if fires from Hezbollah continue, targets in Beirut will be struck and military operations in southern Lebanon will continue as planned.
