"The number of early marriages in the country has decreased."
Modern.az reports that Kamila Aliyeva, Deputy Head of the Family Affairs Department of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, provided information on this in the "Expert Opinion" program broadcast on "DOST TV".
Referring to official statistics, the committee official stated that the number of early marriages in the country has decreased by 5-6 times compared to previous years:
"The mentioned statistics are based on the number of children born to mothers under 18 years of age, precisely for determining early marriages that are not officially registered and are illegal. Looking at the indicators of recent years alone, it is possible to clearly see a positive dynamic."
According to official data, the number of children born to mothers under 18 years of age has changed as follows over the years:
In 2022 - 2011 children,
In 2023 - 1742 children,
In 2024 - 1279 children,
In 2025 - 877 children.
