AFFA has confirmed that "Turan Tovuz" has been removed from competitions held under the UEFA flag in the 2026/2027 season.
Modern.az reports that AFFA has issued an official statement on this matter.
According to the information, the case was referred to the UEFA Appeals Body for a legal assessment of the club's right to participate in the 2026/2027 season of the UEFA Conference League, citing the decision of the AFFA Disciplinary Committee dated December 13, 2019, regarding the disqualification of "Turan Tovuz" players from football due to their involvement in match-fixing. Based on the decision of the UEFA Appeals Body dated June 2, 2026, the club was deprived of the right to participate in the aforementioned tournament.
It should be noted that in 2019, while playing in the I Division, 7 players of "Turan Tovuz" - Sanan Gojayev, Misir Rustamov, Emin Bagirov, Ilkin Sadigov, Rufat Mammadov, Eltay Tagiyev, and Shahin Guluzade - were banned from all football-related activities due to match-fixing.
