Due to the start of this year's Muharram month in Azerbaijan on June 16, wedding palaces are experiencing a great rush and a "rain" of weddings. Currently, it is almost impossible to find an empty day in most wedding palaces in the capital. Although many citizens in the country refrain from holding weddings during Muharram, the number of those who do celebrate in this month is not small.
Modern.az conducted a survey among well-known wedding palaces in the capital to investigate the current situation, available days, and menu prices on the eve of Muharram.
Thus, restaurants' approach to the month of Muharram and the discounts they offer differ. For example, the management of "Niagara" wedding palace did not want to talk or comment on the topic at all. Despite this, "Altun Saray" stated that they accept weddings during the month of Muharram and that this does not cause any problems. Currently, menus at the venue, which has availability on June 16, range from 70-120 AZN, but the show program is not included in the price and starts from an additional 1500 AZN.
The situation is more tense at another venue in the capital, "Grand Neon" wedding palace. All days until the month of Muharram are completely booked. Orders have even been accepted and places taken for the month of Muharram itself. Although there is no difference in menu prices between Muharram and normal days, it was said that a special discount of approximately 20 manats per menu would be applied to those holding weddings this month. Menu prices range from 110-170 AZN.
"Delux" wedding palace is taking a similar step. Unlike others, music and filming services are included in the premium menu prices of 55, 65, 75, and 100 AZN at this venue, which has availability on June 10 and 11. The restaurant, which accepts weddings until Ashura day, also offers a competitive discount especially for parties of 300 people. That is, they can organize a menu offered for 85 AZN elsewhere for 75 AZN when applied here.
At "Hollywood" wedding palace, which stands out with its relatively high prices, June 10 is available. Although menu prices at the venue, which opens its doors to wedding hosts during Muharram, range from 130-200 AZN, the management says that discounts are possible based on individual negotiations.
The survey results show that with only a few days left until the start of Muharram, restaurants prefer special discount campaigns and package services to attract customers. Although the number of people holding weddings this month is less than in previous days, it still exists.
