Acting Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan shared the proposed new oath text for deputies.
Modern.az reports that, according to Simonyan, the new text, which will soon be put to a vote, is as follows:
"For the sake of the continuity, independence, sovereignty, and strengthening of the Republic of Armenia, I swear that as a representative of the people, I will conscientiously fulfill my duties, abide by the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Armenia, contribute to the strengthening of Armenian statehood and the protection of its interests, and do my best for civil solidarity, the security and welfare of the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, and the protection of human rights and freedoms. Glory to the martyrs and long live the Republic of Armenia!"
It should be noted that the new oath text is expected to be put to a vote in the Armenian Parliament in the near future.
