Climate change and persistent hot weather have led to the rapid spread of dangerous diseases in popular tourist destinations.
Modern.az reports that more than 1000 probable and confirmed cases of infection have already been recorded in major resort areas, including Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, and Greece.

These infections can cause joint damage, paralysis, loss of vision, and even death. European doctors are particularly concerned about the spread of the "West Nile" virus.
According to official data from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, this infection has started to spread again this summer season. Cases of infection have already been detected in the Italian provinces of Caserta, Florence, and Verona, as well as in Romania and North Macedonia.

In Italy alone, approximately 38 people died due to this virus during the previous epidemic season, and the total number of infected people in the country reached 500.
People over 50 with chronic diseases are in the highest risk group. Currently, there is no specific treatment or vaccine against the West Nile virus.
In addition, the spread of the "chikungunya" virus is observed in Southern Europe. This disease causes severe joint and muscle pain. The number of suspected cases of infection in France and Italy is in the hundreds.

Although less common, equally dangerous cases of "dengue fever" are found in Croatia, France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that hundreds of millions of "dengue" virus infections are recorded worldwide each year. Due to global warming, disease carriers are beginning to settle in new geographical areas previously considered unusual for them.
