The lawsuit filed by former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan against Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan was not fully satisfied by the court.
Modern.az reports with reference to Armenian media that, according to information released by the law firm "AM Law Firm", Kocharyan claimed that Simonyan made statements that defamed his honor and dignity, demanding the retraction of that information and payment of compensation.
The reason for the lawsuit was Simonyan's harsh remarks about Kocharyan. The Speaker of the Armenian Parliament called the former president a "murderer", "corrupt person" and "bandit", claiming that he saw Armenia as a place for personal gain.
Simonyan also stated that Kocharyan's "hands are stained with blood" and said that he is alien to Armenian society.
However, the court fully rejected Kocharyan's demands. Although the legal justification for the decision was announced, the law firm did not comment separately on that justification.
