The number of Kyrgyz students studying in Azerbaijan has increased by 55 percent.
Modern.az reports that at the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year, 17 students from Kyrgyzstan studied at the bachelor's and master's levels of Azerbaijani higher education institutions.
This indicator was 16 in the 2024/2025 academic year and 11 in the 2023/2024 academic year. Thus, the number of Kyrgyz students increased by 6.3 percent in the last year and by 54.5 percent in two years.
In total, at the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year, 7716 foreign citizens studied for bachelor's and master's degrees in Azerbaijani universities. The share of Kyrgyz citizens among them was approximately 0.2 percent.
For comparison, the total number of foreign students studying in Azerbaijan was 6680 in the 2023/2024 academic year and 7472 in the 2024/2025 academic year.
