Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hopes that a peace agreement with Azerbaijan will be signed and ratified by 2031.

Modern.az reports that Pashinyan spoke about this at a government meeting.

He stated that the signing of a peace agreement with Azerbaijan is one of the most important issues facing both the Armenian government and himself personally.

“I have set a specific task and schedule for myself: to achieve a solution to this issue by 2031. Of course, this is also the task of our entire government and political team. But as prime minister, I consider this very important from the perspective of my personal agenda,” Pashinyan said.

The head of the Armenian government emphasized that he believes such an opportunity exists. According to him, otherwise, he would not have brought this issue to the agenda.

It should be recalled that on August 8, 2025, a declaration was adopted in Washington at the end of the meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with US President Donald Trump.

The document noted that the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia initialed the agreed text of the agreement on peace and the establishment of interstate relations between the two countries.
