31 people on Iranian ships seized by the US have been released. 11 of them were Pakistani citizens and 20 were Iranian citizens.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

The Foreign Minister's statement notes: "31 people on ships seized by the US on the high seas have been returned via Singapore. All of them are healthy and in good spirits. The sailors were taken from Singapore to Bangkok and then departed for Islamabad. They are expected to arrive in the Pakistani capital on the evening of May 15. Pakistan will help the Iranians return to their homeland."

On May 4, the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the repatriation of more than 20 crew members from Iran's "Tuska" cargo ship, which was seized by the US in the Gulf of Oman.

Earlier, Iran's permanent representative to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani, stated in a letter to the UN Security Council that the US committed an act of aggression and state piracy by seizing two Iranian merchant ships, "Majestic" and "Tiffany," and stealing 3.8 million barrels of Iranian oil. Tehran considers the US actions a "gross violation of the UN Charter" and demands that the Security Council take action.
