US Vice President JD Vance said that changing the Iranian government is the decision of the Iranian people.
Modern.az reports that in his statement, Vance emphasized that the US does not intend to send ground troops to Iran for regime change.
“If the Iranian people rise up and want to change their government, that's their business. But we will not send 150,000 ground troops for regime change if the local population does not want it,” he said.
The Vice President noted that currently the US has no plans to send troops to Iran, and such a proposal would actually mean that American soldiers would do the work that the Iranian people should do.
“We don't do such things anymore. We just don't do it,” Vance added.
