US President Donald Trump said he asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to reduce the intensity of strikes on oil refineries (OR) in Russia.
Modern.az reports that Trump spoke about this in a statement to journalists in Illinois.
“It's an interesting issue. I spoke with President Zelensky and told him it would be good for him to strike oil refineries in Russia less,” Trump said.
The US President noted that Zelensky responded by saying, “we will probably do so.”
Trump did not specify when his conversation with Zelensky on this topic took place.
The US President previously stated that Ukraine's strikes on Russia's oil infrastructure affected the global diesel fuel shortage and price increases. Trump believes that one of the main reasons for the diesel fuel shortage is not the events in the Middle East, but attacks on Russia's oil refining facilities within the framework of the Russia-Ukraine war.
