Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, who once played for Italy's “Milan” club, commented on the statements of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who spoke in court.
Modern.az reports with reference to foreign media that Saakashvili said in his speech that “dictatorship will definitely be overthrown” and that the Georgian people “were born for freedom, democracy, victory and success.”
Kaladze, in turn, called Saakashvili “a good example of how those who betray their country end up.”
The Mayor of Tbilisi stated that Saakashvili “does not belong to the Georgian people and Georgia” and serves the interests of another country. Kaladze also emphasized that freedom of speech and opinion is protected in Georgia, but that violation of the law will result in a harsh reaction.
“Freedom of speech and expression is protected in the country, and everyone can express their views on various issues. But if someone violates the law, this will, of course, result in a very harsh reaction,” he noted.
