More than 6,600 people have been detained in France since the start of high school student protests.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by the country's interior minister Laurent Nunez.

“A total of 6,629 people have been detained in connection with the protests. I would also like to note that 761 police officers were injured. 215 students and 89 school staff were also injured,” Nunez said.

It should be noted that high school student protests began in the Île-de-France region of the capital in late September and spread throughout France. Participants protest against overcrowded class schedules, teacher shortages, and other problems in the education system. In some places, protests have turned into riots and clashes with police. Since then, law enforcement agencies have arrested more than 6,000 people, 90% of whom were minors.
