US President Donald Trump said that not being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize would be a great loss of prestige for the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
Modern.az reports that he said the committee has a reputation for not giving awards to people like him.
Trump listed his achievements that he believes are worthy of the Nobel Prize, stating: “Regardless of whether I receive the award or not, I have done more work. If they don't appreciate me, I think it would be a great loss of prestige for them.”
The President also recalled that the 2025 laureate, Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, presented her award to him.
The winner of the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize will be announced in Oslo on October 9.
