US President Donald Trump has accused the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of spying on his wife Melania and son Barron during the Joe Biden administration.
Modern.az reports that the American leader told reporters at the White House.
"They used state agencies as weapons, they spied on my wife, my minor son," Trump said, calling what happened a "disgrace."
The statement was prompted by the White House's publication of declassified correspondence between FBI agents regarding the investigation into the storage of classified documents at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate.
According to the disclosed materials, before the search of the estate in 2022, FBI agents planned to clarify the information they had about the trips of Trump, his wife and son.
The conversation was particularly about the types of aircraft and their travel times.
In 2023, Trump was charged with improper storage of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.
