The European Union (EU) will allocate additional funds next week for the procurement of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.
Modern.az reports that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that she had a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on October 11. In her post on the social network "X", she expressed her solidarity with the Ukrainian people and her full support for Zelensky.
"Ukraine will be one of the main topics on the European Council's agenda this week. We will discuss financial needs for next year and ways to increase international support for Kyiv. Also this week, the EU will allocate additional funds for the procurement of drones and missiles to strengthen Ukraine's defense and protect its airspace," the President of the European Commission noted.
She added that the EU will soon begin consultations on two new directions of negotiations regarding Ukraine's integration into Europe.
