A new court decision has been issued regarding the scandalous land sale signed by former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan during his years as Minister of Defense.
Modern.az reports, citing Armenian media, that the prosecutor's office intends to return approximately 205 thousand dollars to the state budget in connection with the case.
The subject of the court dispute is a 0.17-hectare strategic land plot located on Isaakov Avenue in Yerevan. As a result of its investigations, the Anti-Corruption Court determined that the purchase and sale agreement concluded between the Ministry of Defense and a specific CJSC at that time was realized through illegal means.
With the latest court decision, that agreement was deemed invalid. Now the prosecutor's office continues legal processes for both the return of the land and the compensation of material damage caused to the state.
It should be noted that this is another corruption fact investigated regarding the periods when Serzh Sargsyan held leadership positions.
