Azerbaijani serviceman Nasimi Musayev, detained in Shaki village of Syunik province, Armenia, has been interrogated and testified.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by Artur Poghosyan, chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, during his speech in parliament.

According to him, the Azerbaijani serviceman explained the reason for crossing the border.

“The person stated that there was fog in the area and he got lost. He also talked about how he fired during the incident. I can only say that he had no intention to kill,” Poghosyan emphasized.

The committee chairman did not disclose other details, citing the interests of the investigation.

He stated that a closed meeting on the issue will be held in the Armenian parliament.

Poghosyan also noted that he does not intend to defend the Azerbaijani serviceman.

“The person got lost and came to that area, saw a house, broke the window, entered and prepared food. When the children entered the house, he took their phones, but did not harm them for hours,” he said.

It should be noted that Nasimi Musayev was detained on October 1 in Shaki village of Syunik province, Armenia. The Armenian side announced that a criminal case had been initiated against him and a two-month pre-trial detention measure had been chosen.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
