Russia was ready to resume negotiations with Kyiv after the elections in Ukraine, but Ukraine tried to target Moscow and attack polling stations.
Modern.az reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin said this.
According to Putin, Kyiv should feel the consequences of the response to Russia's attacks on infrastructure facilities and understand that "provocations and escalation of the situation will not yield results."
The Russian President stated that the damage caused by Ukraine's attacks has been eliminated.
He also claimed that Ukraine has no effective means of combating the "Geran" unmanned aerial vehicles used by Russia.
According to Putin, Russia's retaliatory strikes were "so sensitive" for Kyiv that the Ukrainian side requested a ceasefire.
The Russian leader stated that all proposals for a peaceful settlement of the conflict are currently on the negotiating table:
"But we still have to think about what is more acceptable for us."
Putin called statements about Russia posing a threat to Europe and the need to prepare for a possible war with it "a deliberate escalation of the situation and provocation."
According to him, Russia is not preparing for war with Europe and there are "no motives or grounds" for this.
Putin also claimed that some forces in Europe want to use Ukraine to limit Russia's development.
