The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan (MFA) has made a post regarding the Bashlibel tragedy.
According to Modern.az, the post made on the X platform states:
"33 years ago, on April 18, 1993, during the occupation of Kalbajar, 18 Azerbaijani civilians from Bashlibel village were brutally murdered after their village was destroyed and they were discovered hiding in mountain caves for 18 days. Another 14 people were taken captive..."
The MFA stated that this atrocity was part of a systematic campaign of violence, ethnic cleansing, and aggression carried out against the Azerbaijani civilian population.
"Such grave crimes against humanity should never be forgotten. We respectfully commemorate the victims of the Bashlibel massacre."
