Shahin Mustafayev Discussed Border Crossings in Russia

Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev met with Russian Deputy Prime Ministers Aleksey Overchuk and Aleksandr Novak during his visit to Russia.

Modern.az reports that during the meeting with Aleksey Overchuk on October 5, the current state and development prospects of Azerbaijan-Russia trade and economic cooperation were discussed.

The parties reviewed issues of increasing mutual trade turnover, expanding investment ties, and cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, agriculture, transport, and logistics.

The meeting discussed the implementation status of agreements reached at a high level, as well as decisions adopted at the 24th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation held in Zangilan on April 16.

The development of transport links and increasing the efficiency of cargo transportation were also in focus. Opportunities for wider use of the potential of the "North-South" International Transport Corridor, the operation of border crossing points, and the improvement of procedures for the passage of goods and vehicles were reviewed.

The parties exchanged views on the implementation of mutually beneficial projects and the creation of favorable conditions for economic entities of both countries. At the end of the meeting, they expressed their readiness to continue joint work in areas of mutual interest.

During Shahin Mustafayev's meeting with Aleksandr Novak, the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, particularly cooperation in trade, industry, energy, transport, and logistics, were discussed.

Within the framework of the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister also met with Emin Agalarov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council, and Aleksey Repik, Chairman of the Russia-Azerbaijan Business Council. During the meeting, views were exchanged on the development of economic, trade, and investment ties.
