An Azerbaijani citizen on the international wanted list has been apprehended in Germany and brought back to the country.
Modern.az reports that the Ministry of Justice released information about this.
It was stated that Elmir Elkhan oglu Nuriyev, accused of fraud, was put on the international wanted list by the Interpol National Central Bureau of Azerbaijan. His location was determined in Germany, and he was arrested.
According to investigation data, E. Nuriyev is accused of defrauding various individuals in 2021 by promising to renovate their apartments, causing them significant financial damage.
He has been charged under Articles 178.2.2 and 178.4 (fraud) of the Criminal Code.
Based on the request of the General Prosecutor's Office and the guarantees provided by the Ministry of Justice, the German side agreed to Nuriyev's extradition to Azerbaijan.
On November 6, he was brought to Azerbaijan accompanied by employees of the Ministry of Justice and placed in a pre-trial detention center based on the court's arrest warrant.
