"Iran, together with Oman, is discussing the establishment of a permanent system of fees that will formalize control over maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz."

Modern.az reports that "Bloomberg" published this information.

"Iran and Oman must mobilize all resources to ensure both security and the most efficient management of shipping," Iran's ambassador to France, Mohammad Amin-Nejad, told the agency.

The diplomat justified the economic aspect of charging fees from foreign ships passing through the strait, adding:

"This process will require certain costs. Undoubtedly, those who want to benefit from this flow will also have to pay their share of those costs."
