A new agreement has been reached between Armenia and France aimed at developing transport infrastructure.
Modern.az reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this.
He noted that a number of documents were signed between the two countries on May 5, within the framework of the state visit of French leader Emmanuel Macron. Among these documents was an agreement on the construction of the Bargushad tunnel, which is considered an important part of the "North-South" international transport corridor.
According to him, the project is of strategic importance in terms of expanding Armenia's transit capabilities and strengthening transport links in the region.
It should be noted that the Bargushad tunnel is located in the Zangezur mountain range and covers the territory of the Kajaran, Kapan and Sisian regions of Western Zangezur.
