There are no closed topics in bilateral relations, we speak openly with our Azerbaijani colleagues.
According to Modern.az, this was stated by Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, during a press conference with Speaker Sahiba Gafarova in the Milli Majlis.
Igor Sergeyenko stated that the main purpose of today's meetings is to discuss current issues related to the development of cooperation and relations between Belarus and Azerbaijan in the socio-economic, humanitarian and parliamentary spheres.
“Today we feel the support of our Azerbaijani colleagues – our reliable partners and friends. We cooperate with them both at the state level and on international platforms, share our experience of international activity, and support each other both in the parliamentary plane and in other formats.”
He noted that work is also being done to develop cooperation in economic terms:
“A number of joint projects continue to be implemented in the economic sphere. This refers to the development of joint production capacities, construction in common areas, and the creation of Belarusian warehouses in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani warehouses in Belarus. The issue of increasing commodity turnover is also on the agenda. This is one of the important tasks set by the presidents of the two countries during their visits to Minsk and Baku.”
We aim to create joint products in the market:
“However, the main issue is to create joint products that will be sold in the market, produce products and enter the markets of third countries. Today we also discussed what Belarusian and Azerbaijani parliamentarians can do in this direction.”
Relations and consultations in the fields of education, culture and preservation of historical memory are actively developing:
“We are talking about inter-parliamentary cooperation, including the exchange of experience in legislative activity, discussion of draft laws and holding parliamentary hearings.
The platforms created by our parliaments also play an important role in activating information dialogue. Today, our colleagues also participate and represent their countries.
I want to emphasize that today there are almost no closed topics for us. We speak openly, say words of support and friendship, exchange experiences and look at the prospects for the development of our relations in all directions,” he said.
