Diplomats will be given a lump sum payment equal to 6 times the amount calculated based on their average monthly salary received in either the last 24 months or any consecutive 60 months when they retire.
Modern.az reports that the issue was reflected in the “On Diplomatic Service” draft discussed at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis.
According to the draft, the structure of the state salary of diplomatic service employees is redefined. Thus, the salary will include a monthly position salary, an additional payment for diplomatic rank, an additional payment for representation, as well as payment for overtime. In addition, allowances related to the severity of working conditions and climatic conditions are also envisaged.
According to the changes, the monthly position salaries and allowances of diplomatic service employees will be formed in accordance with the conditions specified in Article 33-4 of the “On Civil Service” law. The remuneration of employees working in positions whose service activities are evaluated will be determined taking into account diplomatic service experience and performance results.
The draft notes that the monthly salary of persons temporarily working in a diplomatic position until the completion of the diplomatic service admission process will be determined at 50 percent of the salary for the first payment step of that position.
The draft law also changes the provisions regarding persons leaving the diplomatic service due to reaching retirement age. Thus, an employee of a diplomatic service p will be given a lump sum payment equal to 6 times the average monthly state salary for the last 24 months or any consecutive 60 months in the diplomatic service. Taxes, mandatory state social insurance contributions, and other mandatory payments will be deducted from this amount.
The issue was put to a vote and adopted in the first reading.
