Armenia's status in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will be discussed at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council to be held in Astana on May 29.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk.

He noted that Armenia's sooner determination of its position on the issue would be a more honest approach towards both its EAEU allies and Armenia itself.

“This uncertainty forces economic operators to take a wait-and-see approach and hinders the establishment of long-term economic relations. But I emphasize that we want Armenia to remain in the EAEU. The choice is up to the Armenian people,” Overchuk said.

It should be recalled that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will not be able to attend the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union due to the upcoming elections.
